This course is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the critical skills and knowledge necessary to effectively manage cardiac and respiratory emergencies. As an essential component of resuscitation training, Basic Life Support (BLS) focuses on CPR, AED use, and choking relief for adults, children, and infants.
Participants will gain the ability to recognize life-threatening situations, perform high-quality chest compressions, provide proper ventilations, and use an AED swiftly. The course also emphasizes the significance of teamwork and clear communication in a healthcare setting.
After completing the online segment, participants will attend an in-person skills session, lasting approximately 30-60 minutes, where they will be evaluated on-site.
Students must demonstrate how to assess scene safety and responsiveness, activate the 911 system and AED, check for breathing and pulse, perform CPR on adults, children, and infants, use an airway device, and operate an AED.
Upon successful completion of the skills evaluation, students will earn a 2-year certification from the American Heart Association. To participate, students must present their online Completion Certificate to the skills evaluator.
