As an essential part of safety and supervision of young children, it is important for adults who work with young children to understand the facts about safe sleep. Understanding common risk factors and appropriate crib guidelines enables providers to develop strategies to ensure safe sleeping habits and the prevention of SIDS/SUIDS. Education of the differences between Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is a benefit for staff.
